The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday E.D. White (9-1) takes on St. Louis Catholic (3-7) in the first playoff game of the year. E.D. White is currently on a seven-game winning streak and looking to extend its dominance.
Last week, E.D. White took on Vandebilt Catholic. E.D. White's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 17 points in the first half. That put it at a 17 - 14 advantage. The offense continued to do well in the second half, scoring 28 points. At the end of the day, E.D. White walked away with a breezy 45 - 21 win.
As for St. Louis Catholic, it put forth a good scoring effort two games ago and even improved upon it last game, but that didn't prove quite enough. It suffered a grim 56 - 34 defeat to Leesville last week. However, senior Bailey Hardy didn't go down without a fight as he tossed the ball for 280 yards and five TDs. Hardy also tagged on a 50-yard TD reception in the first quarter.
A win for St. Louis Catholic would reverse both its bad luck and E.D. White's good luck. We'll see if St. Louis Catholic manages to pull off that tough task or if E.D. White keeps its momentum going instead.
