Franklin County Tech (3-3) and Turners Falls (2-4) are set to face off this Saturday at 5:00 PM. Franklin County Tech has a win under its belt but has never won back-to-back; of course, Turners Falls will be hoping to keep it that way.
Franklin County Tech claimed a 28 - 20 victory over Athol last week. No one had a larger role in the success than sophomore Bailey Young, who brought his A game into the contest. He earned two touchdowns and 104 yards rushing the ball.
Meanwhile, last week Turners Falls came up short against Frontier Regional, falling 33 - 21. The defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of junior Kyle Dodge and senior Andy Craver, though; the former threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns, and the latter caught passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Dodge has been a consistent playmaker for Turners Falls as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him. Additional support came from senior John Driscoll, a defensive powerhouse who racked up 19 tackles.
The last time they met, Turners Falls was the decided 57 - 0 victor. Franklin County Tech couldn't get the same offensive movement going as Turners Falls (466 yards compared to 91 yards), so it will surely be hoping to change that this time around. Can Franklin County Tech avoid another defeat? We'll see on Saturday.
