    Markel Perry-Washington has been named player of the year. "Markel Perry did it all this year. He was the stat leader in every category for Marked Tree Sr. High Boys. Leading the ways as team captain, Markel led the Indians to an impressive 31-2 record, back to back State finals appearances, winners of the Gerald Jennings Tournament, winners of the Northeast Arkansas Invitational Tournament, 3 Peat District Tournament Champions, and setting a new school record for most consecutive wins. Markel is 2x All-State 2x All State Tournament Team 2x Top 5 in 2A 3x All District All NEA Tournament Team Player of the Game in the finals of the Gerald Jennings Tournament 2x Chosen as Best Under The Sun by the Jonesboro Sun Newspaper Markel has also been chosen to play in the Arkansas All Star game at the University of Central Arkansas on June 23rd.
