Emily Dempsey has been named player of the year. "Senior outside hitter Emily Dempsey has been named Avon Volleyball Player of the Year. Emily helped lead Avon to it's first ever State Championship. She led the team in kills (354), hitting efficiency (.364) and total points (419.5). She was voted All-Conference, selected a CT Senior All-Star, voted First Team All-State, selected AVCA All-Region 1 and is a team captain. Congratulations, Emily!"
