Jan Smith has been named player of the year. "8 Games played in the shortened season, still set a new school scoring record with 35 goals, and total points with 58. Was this team's ground ball leader with 58 ground balls and chipped in with 9 face-off attempts, winning 6 of them. We had two four-year players on this year's team: Jan and Julio Cejas. Jan is the career leader for the school with 61 goals (without adding the 14 scored sophomore year that were never entered in Maxpreps). Aside from the new school records, Jan was the team's quarterback and leader: recruiting, gathering players during the off-season, teaching teammates, and was always the player who we could put the ball in his stick and control tempo and possession. He is irreplaceable. He was essential in our clearing game, played through shut-offs and triple teams regularly. Ask any player on this very special 2020 team of 14-seniors and they will say- he is the heart and soul of the program who will be dearly missed upon graduation."
