Malia Tate-DeFreitas has been named player of the year. "While it's hard to choose which Lady Roller should be the player of the year. We all have to agree Malia had an incredible career. She has help guide the Lady Rollers to the schools first District III title (now have 3) and the school's first, girls State title (now have 2). Steelton Highspire is rich with winning state titles. We have 6 boys basketball, 2 football and now 2 girls basketball state titles. Malia is the schools all time scoring leader(boys and girls) and is now 2nd in the State of PA(girls) with 3366 career points . She will continue her education and basketbll skills at Hampton University, VA."
