Spectators at Tuesday's league battle between the Willcox Cowboys (Willcox, AZ) and the host Tombstone Yellow Jackets (Tombstone, AZ), saw Willcox's baseball squad knock off Tombstone by a count of 23-9.
Coming up next, the Cowboys play the Bisbee Pumas (Bisbee, AZ) in a 2A East battle, on Wednesday, March 23. Willcox will attempt to move on its 6-2 season record. The Pumas enter the battle with a 6-7 record after their 18-6 non-league win over Valley Union (Elfrida, AZ).
The Yellow Jackets now possess a 5-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Willcox for a 2A East battle on Friday, March 25. Tombstone will play a Cowboys squad coming off a 8-3 league win over Bisbee (Bisbee, AZ). The Cowboys record now stands at 7-2.

The Cowboys used two big innings to finally hold off the Yellowjackets 23-9. Willcox scored four in the first only to see Tombstone return the favor with two runs of their own.
A three run Willcox second inning and a scoreless third were copied exactly by Tombstone. A seven run fourth still did not deter the Yellowjackets as they responded with four runs of their own. It was not until an eight run sixth inning that the Yellowjackets finally gave way.
James Milligan took the loss, working only into the fourth inning. Cody Lopez had a three run homerun to highlight the fourth inning outburst.
Tombstone is currently on their longest losing streak of the season, three games. They also fall to 1-3 in the conference.
