The Kellis Cougars (Glendale, AZ) basketball nipped the host Apache Junction Prospectors (Apache Junction, AZ), 73-66 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Cougars (7-4) will now prepare for their test against Agua Fria (Avondale, AZ). The Owls go into the 4A West Valley test with a 2-10 record. In their last test, Agua Fria was tipped by Verrado (Buckeye, AZ), 66-60, in a non-league test.

The Prospectors now own a 3-8 record. They take the field next when they host Queen Creek for a 4A Desert Sky test on Friday, January 8. Apache Junction will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 60-53 league loss to Saguaro (Scottsdale, AZ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-7.
