The Gilbert Tigers routed the visiting Highland Hawks softball squad by a count of 20-9 in Friday's league battle.

The Tigers (7-10) will now prepare for their battle against Xavier College Prep (Phoenix, AZ). The Gators go into the I Section III battle with a 11-3 record. In their last battle, Xavier College Prep topped Mountain Pointe (Phoenix, AZ), 9-0, in a non-league battle.

The Hawks now sport a 8-13 record. They play next when they host Perry for a non-league outing on Monday, April 4. Highland will battle a Pumas team coming off a 6-5 league loss to Corona del Sol (Tempe, AZ). The Pumas record now stands at 13-9.
