The Payson Longhorns held off the visiting Apache Junction Prospectors volleyball team by a score of 1-0 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Longhorns now have a 17-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Round Valley for a 3A East test on Tuesday, October 19. Payson will confront a Elks team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over St. Johns (St. Johns, AZ). The Elks record now stands at 4-13.

The Prospectors (19-12) will now prepare for their test against Miami (Miami, AZ). The Vandals enter the non-league test with a 8-5 record. In their last test, Miami held off San Manuel (San Manuel, AZ), 3-0, in a league test.
