The Carlsbad Lancers baseball team scored 6 points and limited the visiting Vista Panthers to 1 in the Lancers league victory on Friday.

The Lancers (9-15) will now prepare for their match against El Camino (Oceanside, CA). The Wildcats go into the Palomar match with a 10-15 record. In their last match, El Camino was overwhelmed by Rancho Bernardo (San Diego, CA), 9-1, in a league match.

The Panthers (19-8) will now prepare for their match against Rancho Buena Vista (Vista, CA). The Longhorns go into the Palomar match with a 19-7 record. In their last match, Rancho Buena Vista was overwhelmed by Poway (Poway, CA), 9-7, in a league match.

Carlsbad; Justin Hepner pitching at PETCO held Vista scoreless through 6 innings finally giving up a run off a lead off triple by Collins in the top of the 7th, Along the way Hepner strikes out 9 and scatters only 3 hits and only walking one. Carlsbad offense sprang to early lead with 3 in the first and 2 more in second capped by a pair of 2B by Dawson; Dawson 2/3 2 2B RBI Run, Hardy 2/3 RBI Run; Mayall 2/3 Run, Walker 0/2 2BB SB 2 Run. Solid defense kept the Panthers in check
