The Poly Panthers baseball team scored 11 runs and limited the visiting Flintridge Prep Rebels to 2 in the Panthers league victory on Tuesday.

Game 16, Tue 4/24/12 vs Flintridge Prep -- W 11-2 (11-5, 5-2 league) Poly (ranked 6th in CIF-SS Div 6 again this week [4/23 poll]) scored early and often to avenge its earlier home loss to league rival Flintridge Prep. Chris Ward and Luke Asperger each hit two-run home runs (the first varsity round-tripper for each), Davey Feess had two doubles and an RBI, and Zack Bern had two hits and an RBI. Asperger was 3-4 overall with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored, and Logan Beerman also had 3 runs scored along with a double. Feess (4-2) allowed only an unearned run in 4 2/3 innings while striking out 8, and Michael Bowman finished up on the mound with three strikeouts over the final two innings. Defensive highlights included left fielder Joey Asperger's strong throw to cut down a Prep runner trying to leg out a double, and right fielder J.P. Olinski's sliding catch after a long run. Poly has now won 7 straight and 9 of 10.
