Fans at Friday's league battle between the Hayward Farmers (Hayward, CA) and the visiting Alameda Hornets (Alameda, CA), saw Hayward's soccer squad hold off Alameda by a count of 1-0.

The Farmers (5-3) will now prepare for their battle against Mt. Eden (Hayward, CA). The Monarchs enter the battle with a 8-5 record. In their last battle, Mt. Eden was edged by San Leandro (San Leandro, CA), 2-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Hornets battle the San Ramon Valley Wolves (Danville, CA) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, January 18. Alameda will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Wolves enter the battle with a 11-3 record after their 4-0 league win over Livermore (Livermore, CA).
