The Camarillo Scorpions soccer team scored 2 points and limited the visiting Rio Mesa Spartans to 1 in the Scorpions league victory on Tuesday.

Next, the Scorpions face the Hueneme Vikings (Oxnard, CA) in a contest, on Thursday, January 12. Camarillo will attempt to better on its 7-4 season record. The Vikings enter the contest with a 1-1 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Santa Paula (Santa Paula, CA).

The Spartans now have a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they host Camarillo for a contest on Thursday, January 26.

In the second week of league action for the Scorpions the team started the game with good energy and were able to capitalize in the first half on a corner kick to score the first goal of the game. In the secod half off a direct free kick from Jordan Haliday, Will Hubner was able to redirect with a header for the game winner. Rio Mesa attempted a late comeback getting a goal off a miscue from the defense but the Scorp defense was able to withstand the late rallies from the Spartans with Trevor Prickett making a couple of nice saves to perserve the victory. A very fun game to watch as the teams played hard.
