Avenal Buccaneers (Avenal, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Shandon Outlaws (Shandon, CA), 32-15 in a non-league challenge.

The Buccaneers now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Orange Cove for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 5. Avenal will battle a Titans squad coming off a 13-0 non-league loss to Strathmore (Strathmore, CA). The Titans record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Shandon falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Outlaws travel to Cuyama Valley (New Cuyama, CA) to battle the Bears in a Coast Valley challenge on Tuesday, March 6. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
