Berkeley Yellowjackets (Berkeley, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hayward Farmers (Hayward, CA), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Yellowjackets now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Concord for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 12. Berkeley will face a Minutemen squad coming off a 11-3 non-league win over Alhambra (Martinez, CA). The Minutemen record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Hayward moves to 0-1 on the season. The Farmers host Skyline (Oakland, CA) to meet the Titans in a non-league match on Monday, March 9. The Titans go into the match with a record of 0-3.
