The Johansen Vikings softball team (Modesto, CA), 4-2 in Friday's non-league test with the host Clovis Cougars (Clovis, CA)

Coming up next, the Cougars encounter the Freedom Falcons (Oakley, CA) in a non-league test, on Saturday, April 30. Clovis will attempt to improve on its 18-9 season record. The Falcons enter the test with a 11-5 record after their 7-0 non-league win over Enochs (Modesto, CA).

The Vikings (19-1) will now prepare for their test against Cosumnes Oaks (Elk Grove, CA). The Wolfpack enter the non-league test with a 12-6 record. In their last test, Cosumnes Oaks by Bear River (Grass Valley, CA), 2-0, in a non-league test.

Both teams battled in the wind, but Clovis prevailed after ten innings by a score of 4-2. Johansen played well defensively, but couldn't get the needed runs across the plate. In the bottom of the tenth, they left the bases loaded. Hats off to Clovis High who managed to give the Vikings their first loss.
