Clovis Cougars (Clovis, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Madera Coyotes (Madera, CA), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 20-6 record. They take the field next when they host Buchanan for a Tri-Rivers challenge on Tuesday, April 20. Clovis will face a Bears squad coming off a 6-2 non-league win over Atascadero (Atascadero, CA). The Bears record now stands at 24-1.

With the loss, Madera falls to 9-12 on the campaign. The Coyotes host Central (Fresno, CA) to face the Grizzlies in a Tri-Rivers challenge on Tuesday, April 20. The Grizzlies enter the challenge with a record of 14-8. Central won 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Clovis East (Clovis, CA)
