Escalon Cougars (Escalon, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Downey Knights (Modesto, CA), 13-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to El Capitan for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 10. Escalon will battle a Gauchos squad coming off a 9-0 non-league win over Millennium (Tracy, CA). The Gauchos record now stands at 13-7.

With the loss, Downey falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Weston Ranch (Stockton, CA) to battle the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 9. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 0-11.
