The Durham Trojans softball team (Durham, CA), was routed 14-2 in Thursday's league test with the visiting Willows Honkers (Willows, CA)
Next up, the Honkers confront the Trinity Wolves (Weaverville, CA) in a Sacramento Valley bout, on Friday, May 4. Willows will attempt to better on its 11-11 season record. The Wolves go into the bout with a 4-15 record after their 11-2 league loss to Colusa (Colusa, CA).
The Trojans now possess a 2-11 record. They play next when they host Colusa for a Sacramento Valley bout on Friday, May 4. Durham will confront a RedHawks squad coming off a 10-1 league win over Live Oak (Live Oak, CA). The RedHawks record now stands at 13-6.

The Lady Honkers came out explosive in the top of the first with back to back doubles by Megan Hughes and Rylee Smith to get the scoring started. Courtney Dicharry singled in Smith and Dicharry moved to second on a passed ball and scored on a single by Nichole Thayer. Thayer moved to second on a passed ball and then to third on a ground ball by Maira Jaramillo. Sam Brott singled to score Thayer and Macy Baker got the third double of the inning scoring Jaramillo and giving the Honkers an early 6-0 lead. Hughes would come up again in the first and get her second hit of the inning to plate Baker. Hughes finished the game 3 for 5. Brott only gave up 3 hits in the win. Hughes is really starting to swing the bat well and with power and she's second in the SLV in stolen bases with 22. I think we're peeking at the right time in the season, if we can keep it up and stay agressive, I think we can be successful in the playoffs this year. The Honkers finish tomorrow with a double header at Trinity
