Coaches Game Summary
Davis fell 2-1 to Escalon in one of the best played, best pitched games of the year. Nikki Cardoza made the defensive play of the year with a swipe tag at the plate to turn away Escalon in the bottom of the sixth. Cardoza was spiked on the knee and had to leave the game. Escalon was able to win in the bottom of the seventh when a force play throw got away from Chelsea Maddox and the runner was able to score before Chelsea could recover. The loss spoiled a 13-strikeout performance by Stephanie Crist.
