Coaches Game Summary
Maddy Garcia was this game's Guest Pitcher. On a hot early March afternoon, she struck out the first six batters she faced, then let Alicia and Jannet have a little defense fun for an out, and then proceeded to strike out the next three batters she faced; ultimately ending up with 12 strikeouts in 5 inenings! Only a bloop line drive just beyond the reach of 2nd base kept this from being a perfect gam-e.
Another game, another shut out. Another dominant pitching performance by a freshman. Things bode well for the future of the program.
Offensively, the Spartans were on fire. In the 1st, 16 plate appearances, 12 runs, but only 7 hits. Sadly, the Mustangs of Gilroy were error-prone. Thereafter, the Spartans hit away, but then stepped off the base. Out Standing on base EVERY at-bat: Sam, Emily Maddy (3B), Jannet (2B), and Alicia.
They now head into the SC Tourney.
