The Lady Honkers showed some tenacity by scoring 6 runs in the top of the fifth inning after being down 7-4 after four complete innings. Natalie Massa got things going with a single, Megan Hughes followed with a single and moved to second on a fielders choice off the bat of Maira Jaramillo. Nichole Thayer singled scoring Hughes and Thayer later scored on a single by Macy Baker. The big blow came off the bat of Samantha Brott who ripped a three-run over the fence homer to cap the scoring at 6 and giving the Honkers a 10-7 lead. The Honkers scored one in the sixth when Jaramillo reached on an error and scored on Thayer's third single of the day. Baker scored the final run on a fielders choice RBI off the bat of Jaramillo. Brott got the win on the mound striking out 7 and only giving up 6 hits. Brott was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's. Thayer was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's and Megan Hughes was 3 for 5.
