Willows Honkers (Willows, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Trinity Wolves (Weaverville, CA), 12-6 in a league challenge.

The Honkers now have a 13-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Winters for a non-league game on Wednesday, May 9. Willows will clash with a Warriors team coming off a 7-1 league loss to Wheatland (Wheatland, CA). The Warriors record now stands at 13-9.

In their next game, the Wolves clash with the Hayfork Timberjacks (Hayfork, CA) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, May 8. Trinity will attempt to improve on its 4-17 season record. The Timberjacks come into the game with a 9-7 record after their 11-1 league loss to Maxwell (Maxwell, CA).

The Honkers took the second game of their double header 12-6. The win moved them to 9-1 in the SVL and a co-championship with Colusa. Megan Hughes continued swinging a hot bat going 3 for 5 with a double and triple and 3 RBI's. Nichole Thayer was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI's, Maira Jaramillo was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Macy Baker was 2 for 2, Rylee Smith was 1 for 4 with an RBI and a stolen base. Courtney Dicharry 1 for 4 with a double. Nichole Reed was 1 for 2. Samantha Brott had a single and 2 RBI's. Patricia Farrel had a single. The Honkers blasted 32 hits in the double header. Brott got the win striking out 4 and only allowing 3 earned runs and five hits. Brott finished the SVL season 9-1.
