Las Animas Trojans (Las Animas, CO) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Miami-Yoder Buffaloes (Rush, CO), 49-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Las Animas upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Trojans host Hoehne (Hoehne, CO) to play the Farmers in a 2A Santa Fe bout on Thursday, December 16. The Farmers go into the bout with a record of 1-4. Hoehne lost 63-22 in their recent non-league bout against Sierra Grande (Blanca, CO)

With the defeat, Miami-Yoder moves to 2-3 on the year. The Buffaloes host Kiowa (Kiowa, CO) to face the Indians in a 1A Black Forrest game on Friday, January 14. The Indians enter the game with a record of 2-0.
