Javier Blanco is a freshman at PK Yonge and this is his first year in the boys soccer roster and in the school. Javier comes from Venezuela, where he started playing youth soccer at the Colegio Santo Tomas de Villanueva in Caracas. He played there for 2 years before moving to the United States. Javier struggled to find his place in soccer in middle school and the community until he met Coach De Leon at the Newberry Parks & Recreation soccer program as part of the ACTFOR league. Now, a few years later, Javier reunited with De Leon at PK Yonge, and the journey is just starting for Javier as he found his best fit. He is very happy and progressing well within the Blue Wave system and has bought into our philosophy. In 4 games, he already has an assist and a few steals in limited playing time. Javier is left footed with the ability to play left back and left mid. His best assets right now are his ball control and passing skills, especially crossing it into the box from a wide position.
