Dunnellon Tigers (Dunnellon, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Lecanto Panthers (Lecanto, FL), 17-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Eustis for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 9. Dunnellon will face a Panthers squad coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Hagerty (Oviedo, FL). The Panthers record now stands at 8-1.

With the loss, Lecanto falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Crystal River (Crystal River, FL) to face the Pirates in a 6A District 6 challenge on Tuesday, March 13. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 5-1.
