Wheeler Mustangs (Wheeler, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Groom Tigers (Groom, TX), 41-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wheeler upgrades its record to 14-4 on the season. The Mustangs host Amarillo Collegiate Academy (Amarillo, TX) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-6.

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Sanford-Fritch Eagles (Fritch, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Groom will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 80-50 non-league win over Memphis (Memphis, TX).
