Avon Eagles (Avon, OH) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Cleveland Central Catholic Ironmen (Cleveland, OH), 55-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Avon upgrades its record to 7-1 on the season. The Eagles host Berea-Midpark (Berea, OH) to play the Titans in a Southwestern bout on Friday, January 6. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 7-3. Berea-Midpark won 82-44 in their recent non-league bout against Kenston (Chagrin Falls, OH)

Next up, the Ironmen play the John Marshall Lawyers (Cleveland, OH) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 4. Cleveland Central Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Lawyers go into the bout with a 3-6 record after their 44-37 non-league win over Marlington (Alliance, OH).
