Metro Academy Mavericks (Shawnee Mission, KS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks (Lawrence, KS), 78-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Metro Academy upgrades its record to 12-5 on the season. The Mavericks travel to Nevada (Nevada, MO) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 6. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 2-6. Nevada won 63-32 in their recent non-league bout against Clinton (Clinton, MO)

Next up, the Seahawks clash with the Veritas Christian Eagles (Lawrence, KS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 6. Bishop Seabury Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 3-7 record after their 53-11 league win over Flint Hills Christian (Manhattan, KS).
