January 3, 2023: Nacogdoches, TX 75965 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Nacogdoches Dragons (Nacogdoches, TX) and the visiting Douglass Indians (Douglass, TX), saw Nacogdoches's basketball squad hold off Douglass by a count of 58-53.
With the victory, Nacogdoches upgrades its record to 13-8 on the campaign. The Dragons host Palestine (Palestine, TX) to play the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 7. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 10-7. Palestine lost 67-47 in their recent non-league challenge against Lufkin (Lufkin, TX)
Next up, the Indians play the Alto Yellowjackets (Alto, TX) in a 2A Region III District 22 challenge, on Friday, January 6. Douglass will attempt to upgrade on its 18-3 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 6-8 record after their 55-45 league win over Overton (Overton, TX).
