Buffalo Island Central Mustangs (Monette, AR) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds (Imboden, AR), 66-57 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Buffalo Island Central upgrades its record to 8-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Cross County (Cherry Valley, AR) to play the Thunderbirds in a 2A Region 3 bout on Monday, January 9. The Thunderbirds come into the bout with a record of 0-8. Cross County lost 74-16 in their recent league bout against Marmaduke (Marmaduke, AR)

Next up, the Greyhounds play the Rivercrest Colts (Wilson, AR) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 4. Sloan-Hendrix will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Colts come into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 61-25 league win over Gosnell (Gosnell, AR).
