Maine High School Basketball - Penobscot Valley overwhelms Stearns
January 3, 2024: Millinocket, ME 04462 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Penobscot Valley Howlers (Howland, ME) and the host Stearns Minutemen (Millinocket, ME), saw Penobscot Valley's basketball squad wallop Stearns by a tally of 73-12.
With the victory, Penobscot Valley improves its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Howlers host Piscataquis (Guilford, ME) to confront the Pirates in a C North challenge on Monday, January 8. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 2-4. Piscataquis won 43-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Schenck (East Millinocket, ME)
Next up, the Minutemen confront the Bangor Christian Patriots (Bangor, ME) in a D North challenge, on Friday, January 5. Stearns will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 5-4 record after their 51-39 league win over Lee Academy (Lee, ME).
