Louisiana High School Basketball - Archbishop Shaw can't hold off Jackson Academy
January 3, 2025: Marrero, LA 70072 Jackson Academy Raiders (Jackson, MS) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Archbishop Shaw Eagles (Marrero, LA), 75-72 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Jackson Academy advances its record to 11-3 on the year. The Raiders host Hartfield Academy (Flowood, MS) to face the Hawks in a MAIS 6A District 1 match on Tuesday, January 7. The Hawks enter the match with a record of 13-2. Hartfield Academy won 57-48 in their recent non-league match against Evangelical Christian (Cordova, TN)
The Eagles now own a 13-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Archbishop Hannan for a non-league match on Tuesday, January 7. Archbishop Shaw will face a Hawks squad coming off a 58-47 non-league win over St. Thomas More (Lafayette, LA). The Hawks record now stands at 15-5.
