In Friday's league test, the Garaway Pirates (Sugarcreek, OH) basketball squad knocked off the host Sandy Valley Cardinals (Magnolia, OH), by a score of 53-41.

Next, the Pirates clash with the John Glenn Little Muskies (New Concord, OH) in a non-league test, on Saturday, January 4. Garaway will attempt to improve on its 8-2 season record. The Little Muskies come into the test with a 7-1 record after their 59-55 non-league win over Indian Valley (Gnadenhutten, OH).

The Cardinals (4-5) will now prepare for their test against Carrollton (Carrollton, OH). The Warriors come into the non-league test with a 4-4 record. In their last test, Carrollton beat Salem (Salem, OH), 67-49, in a league test.
