In Friday's non-league contest, the host Niles West Wolves basketball team scored a close 54-47 triumph over the Lakes Eagles.

The Wolves (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against Highland Park (Highland Park, IL). The Giants go into the Central Suburban - North contest with a 9-5 record. In their last contest, Highland Park nipped York (Elmhurst, IL), 61-59, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Fenton Bison (Bensenville, IL) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 4. Lakes will attempt to better on its 4-7 season record. The Bison go into the contest with a 8-6 record after their 57-49 non-league loss to Rochelle (Rochelle, IL).
