In Friday's league test, the New Athens Yellow Jackets (New Athens, IL) basketball squad trounced the visiting Valmeyer Pirates (Valmeyer, IL), by a final score of 70-44.

Next, the Yellow Jackets clash with the Marissa/Coulterville Meteors (Marissa, IL) in a Cahokia - Kaskaskia test, on Friday, January 10. New Athens will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record.
