California High School Basketball - Sotomayor thwarts Banning
January 3, 2025: Wilmington, CA 90744 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Sotomayor Wolves (Los Angeles, CA) and the host Banning Pilots (Wilmington, CA), observed Sotomayor's basketball team knock off Banning by a score of 52-40.
The Wolves (3-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Maywood Academy (Maywood, CA). The Nighthawks come into the non-league challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, Maywood Academy prevailed over Port of Los Angeles (San Pedro, CA), 43-37, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Pilots encounter the Rancho Dominguez Lobos (Long Beach, CA) in a challenge, on Wednesday, January 8. Banning will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record. The Lobos come into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 86-63 non-league loss to Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary (Montebello, CA).
