Georgia High School Basketball - Gainesville sneaks past Cedar Grove
January 3, 2026: Ellenwood, GA 30294 The Gainesville Red Elephants (Gainesville, GA) basketball edged the host Cedar Grove Saints (Ellenwood, GA), 51-46 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Red Elephants now possess a 16-0 record. They play next when they host Milton for a AAAAA Region 7 bout on Tuesday, January 6. Gainesville will play a Eagles team coming off a 90-62 non-league win over Etowah (Woodstock, GA). The Eagles record now stands at 10-2.
With the loss, Cedar Grove falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Saints travel to Stephenson (Stone Mountain, GA) to play the Jaguars in a AAA Region 5 bout on Tuesday, January 6. The Jaguars go into the bout with a record of 3-9. Stephenson won 74-38 in their recent non-league bout against The Weber School (Atlanta, GA)
