The Mallard Creek Mavericks basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting East Mecklenburg Eagles to 29 in the Mavericks non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mavericks now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hough for a 3A/4A Conference 60 contest on Friday, January 7. Mallard Creek will battle a Huskies team coming off a 47-44 league win over West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 4-8.

The Eagles (1-10) will now prepare for their contest against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Cavaliers enter the non-league contest with a 8-5 record. In their last contest, Cuthbertson was routed by Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC), 51-28, in a league contest.
