Vermont High School Basketball - Green Mountain tops Springfield
January 4, 2023: Chester, VT 05143 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Green Mountain Chieftains (Chester, VT) and the visiting Springfield Cosmos (Springfield, VT), saw Green Mountain's basketball squad knock off Springfield by a count of 54-41.
With the victory, Green Mountain upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Chieftains travel to Mill River (North Clarendon, VT) to play the Minutemen in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 6. The Minutemen come into the challenge with a record of 2-8.
Next up, the Cosmos play the Woodstock Wasps (Woodstock, VT) in a Southern Vermont - B challenge, on Friday, January 6. Springfield will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Wasps come into the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 54-31 league loss to Hartford (White River Junction, VT).
