North Carolina High School Basketball - Hibriten succumbs to South Point

January 4, 2023: Lenoir, NC 28645

The South Point Red Raiders topped the host Hibriten Panthers basketball team by a final score of 65-55 in Wednesday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Red Raiders face the Crest Chargers (Shelby, NC) in a 3A Conference 50 game, on Friday, January 6. South Point will attempt to move on its 12-1 season record. The Chargers enter the game with a 10-2 record after their 76-43 non-league win over East Rutherford (Forest City, NC).

With the defeat, Hibriten moves to 7-6 on the year. The Panthers host Freedom (Morganton, NC) to face the Patriots in a 3A/4A Conference 52 game on Friday, January 6. The Patriots enter the game with a record of 10-3. Freedom won 93-50 in their recent non-league game against Draughn (Valdese, NC)
