Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Glenwood Gators (Phenix City, AL) and the host Valiant Cross Academy Warriors (Montgomery, AL), saw Glenwood's basketball squad hold off Valiant Cross Academy by a tally of 71-68.

With the victory, Glenwood improves its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Gators host Macon-East Montgomery Academy (Cecil, AL) to play the Knights in a AISA AAA Region 1 challenge on Friday, January 5. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 4-8. Macon-East Montgomery Academy lost 59-42 in their recent non-league challenge against Hooper Academy (Hope Hull, AL)

Next up, the Warriors play the Success Unlimited Academy MUSTANGS (Montgomery, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 5. Valiant Cross Academy will attempt to improve on its 8-3 season record. The MUSTANGS come into the challenge with a 4-0 record after their 53-46 non-league win over Ezekiel Academy (Montgomery, AL).
