In Saturday's non-league test, the Academy of the New Church Lions (Bryn Athyn, PA) basketball squad defeated the host Timber Creek Regional Chargers (Erial, NJ), by a score of 76-57.

Next, the Lions clash with the Friends' Central (Wynnewood, PA) in a Friends Schools test, on Tuesday, January 7. Academy of the New Church will attempt to improve on its 7-5 season record. The come into the test with a 6-9 record after their 50-47 non-league win over Chambersburg (Chambersburg, PA).

The Chargers now sport a 1-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Delsea for a Tri-County - Liberty match on Tuesday, January 7.
