The Howells-Dodge Jaguars (Howells, NE) basketball edged the visiting Fort Calhoun Pioneers (Fort Calhoun, NE), 57-53 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Jaguars now possess a 7-3 record. They play next when they host Archangels Catholic for a non-league bout on Friday, January 10. Howells-Dodge will play a Defenders team coming off a 65-28 non-league win over Hartington-Newcastle (Hartington, NE). The Defenders record now stands at 8-2.
