The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Meridian Trojans (Bellingham, WA) and the host Mt. Baker Mountaineers (Deming, WA), observed Meridian's basketball team knock off Mt. Baker by a score of 58-40.

The Trojans (8-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Lynden Christian (Lynden, WA). The Lyncs come into the 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge with a 9-1 record. In their last challenge, Lynden Christian prevailed over Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA), 87-68, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mountaineers encounter the South Whidbey Falcons (Langley, WA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 6. Mt. Baker will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record.
