The El Modena Vanguards (Orange, CA) basketball crushed the visiting Bolsa Grande Matadors (Garden Grove, CA), 60-16 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Vanguards now possess a 15-2 record. They play next when they host Pacifica for a North Hills bout on Tuesday, January 7. El Modena will play a Mariners team coming off a 38-25 non-league win over Mission Viejo (Mission Viejo, CA). The Mariners record now stands at 6-13.

With the loss, Bolsa Grande falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Matadors travel to Western (Anaheim, CA) to play the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 7. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 1-10. Western lost 32-22 in their recent league bout against Saddleback (Santa Ana, CA)
