Florida High School Basketball - Tarpon Springs overwhelmed by Countryside
January 5, 2022: Tarpon Springs, FL 34689 The Countryside Cougars basketball team scored 48 points and restricted the host Tarpon Springs Spongers to 7 in the Cougars non-league victory on Wednesday.
The Cougars now sport a 2-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hollins for a 5A District 9 contest on Friday, January 7. Countryside will battle a Royals team coming off a 71-21 non-league loss to Clearwater Central Catholic (Clearwater, FL). The Royals record now stands at 0-8.
The Spongers (0-13) will now prepare for their contest against East Lake (Tarpon Springs, FL). The Eagles come into the non-league contest with a 9-5 record. In their last contest, East Lake triumphed over Mitchell (New Port Richey, FL), 60-54, in a non-league contest.
