The Galena Grizzlies basketball team scored 81 points and held the visiting Loyalton Grizzlies to 53 in the Grizzlies non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Grizzlies now sport a 6-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Reno for a 5A Northern contest on Saturday, January 7. Galena will battle a Huskies team coming off a 49-44 league win over Damonte Ranch (Reno, NV). The Huskies record now stands at 11-2.

The Grizzlies (7-5) will now prepare for their contest against Elk Creek (Elk Creek, CA). The Elks enter the Pioneer contest with a 1-4 record. In their last contest, Elk Creek triumphed over Providence (Orland, CA), 49-34, in a non-league contest.
