Alabama High School Basketball - Benjamin Russell nips Talladega
January 5, 2023: Alexander City, AL 35010 Benjamin Russell Wildcats (Alexander City, AL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Talladega Tigers (Talladega, AL), 35-33 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Benjamin Russell upgrades its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Calera (Calera, AL) to play the Eagles in a 6A Area 5 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 3-14.
Next up, the Tigers play the Southside Panthers (Gadsden, AL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Talladega will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 14-4 record after their 63-62 non-league win over Cherokee County (Centre, AL).
